The following describes the Retail Technology intern positions
to assist Hy-Vee, Inc. in the summer of 2005. The Retail Technology
department will be doing two projects and will hire two sets
of interns for the positions of Computer System Installations/Updates
and Training/Support. The necessary training required for this
position will be provided.
COMPUTER SYSTEM INSTALLATIONS/UPDATES:
This group will be visiting the stores to install and update
Windows computer systems. Interns will replace existing SQL
servers and older workstations, re-image existing workstations,
replace laser printers, and perform other maintenance.
TRAINING/SUPPORT:
This group will be training on the use of a Windows Pocket PC
device running internally developed applications. Interns will
be visiting the stores to train the management team as a group.
Both positions will be Monday through Friday, with travel and
overnight stays. The internships will begin in mid-May and conclude
in mid-August. All interns must have a valid driver's license

INVENTORY CONTROL INTERN SUMMER 2005
We have one Inventory Control Internship position available
to assist Hy-Vee, Inc. in the implementation and evaluation
of the Computer Assisted Reordering System (CARS) in our retail
stores. This position will be from approximately May 16, 2005
to August 19, 2005. This Monday through Friday position will
be 40 hours per week with occasional overtime. This position
is located in the West Des Moines corporate office, but the
majority of the time will be spent traveling to the stores with
overnight stay. This would be an excellent opportunity for anyone
considering a career with Hy-Vee, Inc. The necessary training
required for this position will be provided.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Evaluates perpetual inventory procedures and makes recommendations
to the Store Director.
2. Assists stores with setting up new departments and sections

3. Creates and revises user manuals.
4. Posts all CARS documentation on the Hy-Vee Net.
5. Makes recommendations on how to improve store level training
on the CARS program.

1. A basic understanding of Hy-Vee retail operations.
2. A valid driver's license and must be 18 years of age.
3. Good instruction skills and the ability to review the work

5. Experience with RBX and CARS is helpful, but not required.
6. A strong background in mathematics, statistics, or business
preferred.

a diveristy. It is also a venue that showcases Iowa-based performers,
artisans, and cultural craftsmen. And through distinct activities
and exhibits educates the youth to a better understanding of
the Latino culture, as well as teach them tolerance and appreciation
of diversity. This event served as a vehicle to unite various
agencies, corporations, and community entities that have tried
to outreach to the Latino community. This venue has made Iowans
aware of the positive aspects the Latino community a sense of
ownership, accomplishment and ethnic pride.
The Latino Resources, Inc has recently established a small
office in which the festival coordinator works out of. Setting
up the office, data base, email serve list while fund raising
for the event has been very time consuming since it is a one
person operation. As Because of budget constains we would need
a non paid intern.
This individual will be responsible for assisting with day
to day work and assist in the planning of the Festival. The

When?

Working 20 hours per week for seven weeks, interns will earn

Job description: Support efforts of Monsoon to coordinate sexual
assault awareness and organizing efforts in Iowa Asian and Asian-American
communities. Assist community-based organizations raising awareness
and developing helpful responses to sexual assault survivors.
Provide training on culturally appropriate responses to sexual
assault survivors; provide technical assistance to sexual assault
