Experience with database performance management that includes

This person will work with data acquisition DBA in supporting
the data acquisition process, Data Warehouse Analysts in defining
end-user requirements, and programming staff in creating parameterized
web applications and ad-hoc reports. Demonstrated abilities in
using and supporting meta data repositories and having excellent
technical documentation skills in writing for both technical and
non-technical personnel is required. The job incumbent must demonstrate
expertise with dimensionally modeled databases along with various
end-user access methodologies including web-based parameterized
reports, Business Objects, MS Analysis Services, and direct query
with query analyzer. Must also have the ability to work in an
iterative development environment and have a customer service
orientated focus with the ability to foster a team relationship.
Specific duties of this position include working primarily with
the IME DW technical team and end-users in the design, construction,
refreshment, and maintenance of data mart databases and operational
data stores. For each data mart deployed, specific metadata repository
information must be collected and populated including, but not
limited to information surrounding the data elements used, business
rules applied, error handling, and security protocols. Participates
in the data acquisition process with the acquisition DBA and monitors

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management
Information Systems or related area; or Associate's degree plus
2 years related work experience. A basic understanding of the
life insurance business and investment/finance knowledge is
preferred. Must be knowledgeable in relational database, table
structure, sql logic, Visual Basic, and flat file concepts.
One to two years previous experience or exposure to Crystal
Reports Designer and other reporting tools is necessary; must
have experience working in a LAN/client server environment.
Vendor relation experience preferred. Must have an awareness
of trends in information technology and the ability to grasp
new or changes in technology tools. Must have the ability to
prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a high pressure,
time intensive work environment.
